Over the past several months, volunteers on the CGP Conference Committee have worked together to select sessions and topics to provide attendees with the latest professional development and educational opportunities at CGP Conference. Members of the Conference Committee designed specialized tracks to highlight sessions for specialized sectors of the planned giving community.

Carlo is the Senior Vice President of Development for Boy Scouts of America, the Executive Director for the National Boy Scouts of America Foundation National Office of Development and the CGP Conference 2024 Committee Chair. Coming from his keynote presentation at the Carolina Gift Planning Conference, Carlo shared his path into planned giving, strategies for time management and the importance of personalizing professional relationships.

Melissa is the Director of Gift Planning at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. She holds a Master's in Communication and Rhetorical Studies and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Conflict and Collaboration from Syracuse University. In 2023, she was awarded a CGP Scholarship entailing a CGP Conference registration and a one-year membership.

This year’s CGP Conference included sessions to support almost all 16 National Standards for Gift Planning Success, including Standard 14, which specifies that best-practice gift planning programs have “a robust, well-executed stewardship plan across all lines of fundraising focused on engaging donors in a meaningful way, building long-term donor relationships and maintaining a high donor retention rate.”

Meet Lauren Elliott! Lauren is the Director of Planned Giving at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Lauren has always found herself intrigued by mortality, so her cocktail conversations often revolve around death, DNR's and living wills (you know- the fun stuff!). As an old soul and cancer survivor, she's not one to shy away from life's most challenging conversations.

Meet Dien Yuen! Dien is the CEO and co-founder of Daylight Advisors. She is also the founder of the Center for Philanthropy and Social Impact at The American College of Financial Services. Dien created the Advisors of Color CAP® Study Group, a support group for BIPOC advisors seeking their designations. She also designed the Purpose School, an immersive and interactive learning experience that helps leaders explore the intersection of purpose and social impact.
