This year’s CGP Conference included sessions to support almost all 16 National Standards for Gift Planning Success, including Standard 14, which specifies that best-practice gift planning programs have “a robust, well-executed stewardship plan across all lines of fundraising focused on engaging donors in a meaningful way, building long-term donor relationships and maintaining a high donor retention rate.”

Why I Give to CGP
Posted by askirvin on Oct 17, 2023 04:22:20 PM
I give to advance CGP’s mission to support the charitable gift planning community.
For professional associations, the primary sources of revenue are still membership dues and program fees – like the CGP National Conference. But it takes charitable gifts to fully support high-quality educational programming, scholarships, research, and advocacy.

By Lisa M. Chmiola, CFRE, CSPG
The annual Giving USA report was released a few weeks ago, and there’s been much buzz about 2022 as a bad year for fundraising. It’s hard to ignore the numbers: individual giving is down to 64% of all gifts, and those gifts decreased 13.4% in 2022 from 2021 when adjusted for inflation.
