The CGP Conference is headed to Orlando, Florida from October 28 through 30. CGP Conference is the largest gathering of gift planning professionals where attendees have the chance to learn from and collaborate with the most respected people in the field. 

Join hundreds of gift planning professionals from around the country to expand your network and skills. Use the guide below to make the most of your conference experience and have the best chance at getting the CGP Conference approved. 

Before the Conference:

• Complete the NSGPS assessment surveys. Identify areas of improvement for you and your shop, then select sessions that support your goals.
• Join (or renew) your CGP membership and register before the early-bird deadline. Minimize the cost of attendance by registering before the early-bird deadline on August 28 and take advantage of the conference hotel block and CGP member discounts. 
• Register for pre-conference programs. Participate in specialized education to advance your career. Limited space is available. Learn more about the 2024 Pre-Conference Programming here.
• Make the Case with the CGP Conference letter template to demonstrate the value of attending. Customize this letter based on your specific goals and how you will make a return on investment (of both time and money!).
• Provide examples of how your attendance will positively impact your program and your day-to-day work.
  • Discuss how advancing your skills is beneficial for your professional development and your organization. 

​During the Conference

• Prioritize your calendar. Schedule time to meet with donors or other connections near Orlando to build on existing relationships. 
• Connect and network. Benchmark and strategize with your peers in affinity group sessions to bring proven tactics and fresh thinking back to your office.
• Meet your organization's goals by attending pre-conference sessions, affinity group events and connecting with dozens of exhibitors in the solutions center.
• Engage with others. Ask speakers questions, converse with attendees and use the solutions center to advance your tools.
• Learn the most current and creative ways to navigate trends and develop deeper relationships with donors, leading to more meaningful gifts.

After the Conference

• Review conference takeaways. During your trip home, highlight key takeaways from the conference. Tie your learnings to your organization’s long-term and short-term goals or strategic plans to demonstrate the value and impact of your education.
• Compile your notes and resources. With so much valuable content covered in three days, highlight the materials you want to revisit for easier access later.
• Pay it forward. Share your experience, new skills and ideas with others.
• Host a post-conference briefing for staff, senior management and/or your team to demonstrate what you've learned.
