If you’ve explored the CGP Conference, you may have noticed that we refer to the exhibit hall as the “Solutions Center.” The Solutions Center is the place where attendees gather for breakfast, breaks, receptions, and meetups with vendors and fellow attendees. But it’s also the site of informal learning opportunities you might not have considered.

What to Watch in November

The House now stands in recess for all of October, as is tradition in an election year, whereas Senators will stick around DC for votes throughout the month.  After the election, attention will turn to the “lame duck” session, set to begin the week of Veteran’s Day and continue after Thanksgiving and into the first two weeks of December. During this time, a flurry of legislative activity can be expected including a possible year-end tax bill that could carry a number of relevant provisions to charitable gift planners. 

CGP is monitoring and engaged on a number of such provisions, both legislative and regulatory in nature, as we move into the final weeks of the 115th Congress, some of which are listed here. 

CGP Board of Directors Nominations

CGP is accepting nominations for the 2027-2029 term of the Board of Directors through April 2, 2026.

Service on the CGP Board of Directors is a three-year volunteer commitment to engage with fellow leaders from across the country in four meetings annually to help shape the future of CGP and the field of charitable gift planning.

Call for Presentations - Now Open!

We invite you to propose a breakout session for the 2019 CGP Conference in New Orleans. CGP Conference is the place where charitable gift planning professionals gather annually to learn, network and collaborate with the best in the field. 

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SESSIONS THAT ARE…

Unique: Is this a session that brings fresh ideas and insight to the gift planning community?

Engaging: Adults learn better when they are thinking out loud, not passively listening. We prefer proposals that include strong plans for active learning.

Practical: Our attendees want to leave the conference with new tools and ideas that are immediately useful in practice.

Challenging: Most of our attendees have 10 or more years of experience in charitable planning, and they’re interested in sessions that go beyond the basics.

The Call for Presentations is open through March 1. Click here for a worksheet to help you prepare your submission. When you're ready to submit a proposal, click the link below.

Submit Conference Proposal

Then follow the steps below. 

If you submitted a proposal last year, you can log in with the same username and password. If you do not remember your password, you will have the opportunity to reset it.

If you have never submitted a proposal:

  1. Click on the Create Account tab and enter your email address, password and confirm password (you do not need to use your CGP password). Click the Sign upbutton.
  2. In the confirmation email message, click on the Confirm Account button.
  3. In the pop-up thank you message, select Please click here to login and login to your account. After you’re logged in, a turquoise box will pop up at the top of your screen indicating you have created a submission, which you can proceed to edit.
