It’s About Time: Managing Your Most Precious Resource

Presenter: Anne Melvin

If you aren’t managing your time well, there’s no way you’re managing moves toward your donors’ ultimate gifts. Anne Melvin shows you how to separate what’s urgent, what’s important, and what’s just wasting your time. At the end of the hour, you’ll have strategies and inspiration to take control of your days and accomplish the things that really matter.

What you'll learn:
•    How to categorize your work and your personal development according to urgency and importance.
•    How to devote at least 60% of your time to activities that move the needle toward your goals.
•    How to minimize the amount of time spent on trivia, interruptions and busywork.

Anne Melvin has worked as both a volunteer and a professional in the field of development for over two decades, holding positions of increasing responsibility at various schools at Harvard University, including Harvard College, the Harvard School of Public Health, and Harvard’s central University Development Office. In eight different positions at Harvard, her experience runs the gamut of development’s major functions, having career stops in annual fund, major gifts, stewardship, gift planning, and operations. She currently directs the education program for Harvard’s central development office.  For the past three years, Anne has directed the fundraiser training and overall development education program at Harvard’s central development office.
