Indianapolis, IN -- The National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP) will induct Margaret M. Holman into the CGP Hall of Fame. Margaret’s influence and contributions are felt across the field. Her legacy spans more than 50 years in nonprofit fundraising, leading as a mentor, expert, educator, author and consultant

The Hall of Fame Award, CGP’s highest honor, recognizes those whose life's work has impacted charitable gift planning. Their work advances the mission of CGP and brings credit to all the professions engaged in charitable planning.

Margaret M. Holman retired as president of Holman Consulting in December 2025.  She founded her fundraising firm in New York City in 1991 to help nonprofits dream big and raise the resources to make it happen. For more than three decades, her firm had served clients in the performing arts, higher education, international relief, and animal welfare both here in the United States and Europe.

Margaret previously served as a senior consultant with The Sharpe Group, guiding nonprofits in building meaningful planned giving programs, and as senior vice president at the ASPCA, where she led fundraising, communications, and education efforts. She has also held development leadership roles at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, CARE, Barnard College, and more.

She recently received the Association of Fundraising Professionals, New York City Chapter prestigious Ralph Chamberlain Award for recognition of her lifetime fundraising expertise. She is also the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Philanthropic Planned Giving Group of New York.

Margaret’s strategic leadership and dedication to philanthropy have significantly impacted the gift planning industry and countless organizations and professionals nationwide. Margaret will be inducted into the CGP Hall of Fame at CGP Conference 2026 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
