Indianapolis, IN -- The National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP) is pleased to induct Angela Woo Sosdian to the CGP Hall of Fame. Angie, Executive Director of Gift Planning at the Nature Conservancy, leads an experienced team focused on complex and deferred gifts, and who are responsible for over $210 million annually in fundraising revenue in support of the Conservancy’s ongoing mission.
The Hall of Fame is CGP’s highest honor. The award recognizes those whose life's work has impacted charitable gift planning. Their work advances the mission of CGP and brings credit to all the professions engaged in charitable planning.
Additionally, Angie’s team secures a pipeline of future gifts, including 2,000 bequest commitments annually. She initiated the Conservancy’s Legacy Club recognition society, now 32,100 members strong. Angie currently manages about 78 staff including Gift Planning Fundraising, Gift Planning Analytics and Support, Gift Administration, Gift Planning Marketing & Stewardship and Volunteer Engagement teams. She joined the Conservancy in 1980 and has held a variety of fundraising positions over that time, including directing the $1.7 billion Campaign for a Sustainable Planet and serving as Chief Philanthropy Resources Officer, helping launch the development of organization-wide private fundraising goals.
In 2005, Angie received the Conservancy's Lifetime Achievement Award for professional excellence. In 2024, she was recognized with the Conservancy’s Trailblazer Oak Tree Award for her significant achievements and remarkable impact to the organization. Angie graduated with a B.A. in biology from Harvard. She splits her time between Arlington County, VA, and Jefferson County, WV, and she serves on the board of the Potomac Conservancy and on the fundraising committee of a local historic preservation society.
In October, Angie will be inducted into the CGP Hall of Fame at CGP Conference 2024 in Orlando, Florida. The Hall of Fame will be permanently memorialized on the CGP website and recognized in associated media outlets.
Hall of Fame inductees receive lifetime membership in CGP, honorary membership in the Leadership Institute and complimentary registration to conference in the year of the award.
