Webinar Description: More and more people are using DAFs and yet we know so little about how they are being used. Drs. Heist and Vance-McMullen will share insights from their academic research including the latest DAF Research Collaborative report. The report, based on data collected from 13,000 DAF accounts across the country, shows that DAFs support a wide range of philanthropic behaviors. Findings indicate that large DAFs ($1M+) tend to grant out slower but also respond to increased needs. Many donors choose “endowed” DAFs or follow the endowed model. Grantmaking from DAFs is not as tied to the calendar year as other giving. And about 12% of all DAF accounts engage in family philanthropy. The presentation will also include insight from in-depth interviews with 50 different DAF donors.
