Join CGP for the June Advocacy Update to learn about the latest on the budget bill, CGP’s advocacy efforts, and a new law in Indiana aimed at ensuring timely charitable beneficiary distributions.

• The Senate plans to release the budget bill text late next week, aiming to hold a full Senate vote by the end of the month. Stay informed about the Senate’s efforts and any actions taken to date regarding provisions that impact the nonprofit sector.
• CGP has joined multiple coalitions to defend the nonprofit sector. Hear from CGP’s Government Relations Committee chair, Mike Bell, on why CGP remains actively engaged in protecting the nonprofit sector and promoting charitable giving.
• A major accomplishment of the RIFT project has been the passage of a bill in Iowa that provides nonprofits with recourse to receive charitable beneficiary distributions in a timely manner. Recently, Indiana passed a similar bill. Phil Purcell, who was the driving force behind this legislation, will present on the bill and its path to becoming law.
