Speaker Bio: Carlo Laurore is a current Board member of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners and of his local North Carolina Planned Giving Council. Carlo leads the national planned giving efforts for Boy Scouts of America, where he has worked for the past seven years. In addition to endowment growth initiatives and charitable gift planning, his team also supports funding strategy for DEI efforts, corporate partnerships, and Private Foundations. Previously, Carlo worked in higher education fundraising at NC State University and NC A&T University. Of note, he is responsible for starting the gift planning program at NC A&T, where he helped close the largest gift from a non-alum individual at that time. Prior to his work in fundraising, Carlo worked for eight years in the financial services industry for BB&T, where he held the title of Vice President and managed a $50+ million-dollar portfolio of business loan clients. Most importantly, he has a heart for philanthropy, youth development, and helping nonprofit organizations big and small maximize their fundraising efforts through soliciting gifts of noncash assets and optimizing their gift planning program.
