This session uncovers the mystery behind the IRA. More and more often, donors have large IRA accounts comprising a significant part of their estates. Yet often they are unaware of the taxable nature of these accounts. Or, on the other hand, maybe they are stuck on the idea of a stretch IRA for their heirs. So how can you comfortably talk to donors about their options which might better suit their needs? How can IRAs fund a charitable gift to your organization and at the same time also benefit their loved ones?  Several techniques seize the taxable nature of the IRA and use it to make it the most tax-efficient asset to fund an estate gift.  In this session you'll be able to offer your donors options they've likely never had offered to them. The IRA solution can make you and your organization the hero of the estate plan and you'll be creating the best donor experience while doing the best job possible. This session covers the IRA and its required minimum distributions during life as well as at death and how combining a philanthropic goal with their estate planning goals using an IRA can very often meet their needs.
