Innovations in Gift Planning: A Bequest Challenge Case Study
Dianne Armstrong
A successful gift planning program focuses on growing and maintaining the bequest intent pipeline for future estate and planned gifts.
This session will start with a case study of Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s successful bequest intent pipeline and estates-in-probate program and how this foundation provided the base for the development team to position the program to reach new heights through a bequest challenge. Planned Parenthood’s Second Century Campaign now includes a $20,000,000 Bequest Challenge incentive fund that has to date resulted in the documentation of more than $300,000,000 in future bequests. The session will continue with a discussion of the underpinnings of legacy challenges and what to consider in developing or accepting a legacy challenge campaign with special emphasis on unique factors when working in a national organization with separately incorporated affiliates and a constantly evolving donor base.
