Beyond the Gift: Honoring Lives, Building Legacies, and Democratizing Donor Relationships with Lynne Boardman and David Kravinchuk
April 21 at 2 p.m. ET - Monthly Webinar
Join legacy fundraising leaders, Lynne Boardman (Harvey McKinnon Associates) and David Kravinchuk (The Common Good), for a world-premiere session that will challenge, inspire, and transform the way we approach gifts in wills. For too long, traditional legacy fundraising has focused on a select group of high-net-worth donors—overlooking the millions of donors whose lives and values deserve to be honored through their final act of generosity.
This session is a call to action for gift planners to redefine their role in serving donors, not just securing gifts. It will explore how fundraisers can deeply connect with donors in their final stages of life, helping them craft a legacy that gives meaning to their life story while building a better future for generations to come.
Lynne and David will present a radical yet practical approach to scaling legacy conversations beyond the traditional reach of a gift planning officer, democratizing legacy giving to reach thousands—or even millions—of donors. They’ll show why this is more important than ever—not just for sustainability and revenue, but to forge lifelong donor relationships filled with purpose and respect.
This session will blend storytelling, real-world examples, and bold new ideas, leaving you with the tools to unlock transformational gifts from donors who have flown under the radar—until now.
Presented by:
Lynne Boardman has been working in fundraising for 20 years, in Canada and the UK. She’s worked with wonderful organizations representing a myriad of different causes, from overseas development to health care, environmental causes, human rights, homelessness organizations and Indigenous education. Lynne works for Vancouver and Toronto-based fundraising consultancy, Harvey McKinnon Associates. She oversees client services and consults on strategy for clients like Amnesty International, Oxfam Canada, BC Children's Hospital, and Indspire.
David Kravinchuk has been a professional fundraiser for 25 years, striving to share the power of philanthropy with everyone, not just billionaires. This is why I’m deliriously devoted to spreading the practice of purposefully and precisely investing in deep donor relationships. And it’s why you’ll find me connecting with colleagues wherever someone has left a conference room door unlocked (so far, Canada, USA, New Zealand and Slovakia).
