Title: How We Do It: Collecting and Analyzing Donor Feedback

Presenters: Laura Sidla and Steve Maughan

Date: November 24, 2020

Time: 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. EST

How can you build a donor-focused culture, or accompany donors on their philanthropic journeys, if you never hear about their experience with your people and organization? Feedback strategies allow you to learn what is most important to your supporters and how they want to hear from you. Donor surveys aren’t the only way to collect feedback. In this webinar, you’ll hear how organizations are opening channels of communication to improve the donor experience.

Our panelists will discuss

  • Pros and cons of various vehicles for collecting feedback, including surveys,  focus groups and social media analysis.
  • How to get actionable information—questions to ask and questions not to ask.
  • How panelists have used donor feedback to increase donor engagement.

Laura Sidla

Director of gift planning, Partners In health

Laura Sidla is Director of Gift Planning at Partners In Health (PIH), a social justice organization working to repair the world by strengthening health systems. The organization’s lifesaving work is featured in a new Netflix documentary called “Bending the Arc.” Laura believes gift planning is a critical lynchpin in redistributing intergenerational wealth and directing money toward communities that disproportionately suffer from structural violence and injustice. Laura received the Youth in Philanthropy award from the AFP-RI chapter in 2006. At PIH, Laura established gift acceptance policies, database infrastructure, a gift annuity program and marketing communication efforts. Under her leadership, the legacy society grew from a theoretical concept to adding 100+ members and self-identified prospects a year (including 7- and 8- figure gifts). Her national portfolio takes her around the country and beyond as she represents PIH’s work in places as varied as Navajo Nation, Haiti, Rwanda, Malawi, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. Laura is a Fellow in Charitable Estate Planning and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy.
