This presentation will address how nonprofits are adapting to the new environment after the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that took effect January, 2018. Despite predictions by some sources of significant downturns in charitable giving, the environment for charitable gift planning is positive. An overview of how planned giving can flourish in this new environment and become increasingly important to successful development programs will be presented. Also covered is how the nonprofit sector is advocating for legislation to enhance the charitable deduction and what opportunities exist to improve the tax environment for charitable giving. Finally, learn about the CGP metrics initiative to help make the case and support planned giving departments and new education programs to meet the emerging needs of those involved in charitable gift planning.

What you will gain:

  • Awareness of current and potential legislation affecting charitable giving and the nonprofit sector
  • The potential and opportunities for planned giving after tax reform
  • Awareness of CGP strategic directions and initiatives; including the metrics project and education programming.
