Possible Day on the Hill event to be held Thursday, October 12

Indianapolis, IN -- The National Association of Charitable Gift Planners is investigating holding a “Day on the Hill” event in conjunction with the National Conference on Philanthropic Planning held in Baltimore on October 9-11. The "Day on the Hill" event would take place on Thursday, October 12. Round trip bus transportation would be provided in the morning from the conference hotel in Baltimore to the Capitol for pre-arranged meetings with both Senate and House offices. The buses would return to the conference hotel in the late afternoon.

We are conducting a short survey to determine the level of interest and potential for participants. Our goal is to have 100 participants from a wide diversity of congressional districts so that small group meetings can be set matching constituents with their representatives. Our purpose would be to educate and inform members of Congress the importance of a strong philanthropic sector and how tax policy can influence, both positively and negatively the amount of charitable giving that is received in support of organizations in their districts and communities.

Holding the event the day after the conference is both efficient and less costly for conference attendees to participate. The event is in no way restricted to conference attendees. All national and council members and philanthropy advocates are encouraged to participate in the event. Please answer this very short survey indicating your level of interest.
